On arrival we recieved a very warm welcome. The hotel has car parking facilities which were a blessing. This property is situated in the towns streets. It is a charming cottage style place to stay in. The facilities were plentiful in every room, all rooms were a very good size.The breakfast was amazing everything you could wish for provided to a good standard. Nothing was too much trouble and all at an exceptionally good price.- Tracy Peech
I booked Compton House as I was at an event in Pilsey, Bakewell and we were very happy with our choice.From previous reviews found out that there was parking at the rear by driving through the walkway to Sainsburys.When we arrived at the entrance we were greeted by the owner who showed us to our room, the lady was very welcoming and made you feel at home, we were asked about breakfast and as we needed to be up early on the first morning we arranged for a bacon & egg sandwich to be left for us by the front door and then breakfast in the dining room the following day, these were both really tasty.We know Ashbourne quite well and knew that we were going to have fish & chips from the Market Square chip shop as this is our favourite one when we are in Ashbourne and it never dissapoints, we also booked the Basement Thai restaurant and again had a fabulous meal there too.There are also some great pubs, nice bars in the town and people are friendly. We would definitely stay at Compton House again if we were looking to stay in Ashbourne for another weekend. - sally B
